River Valley Family Care Welcomes Dr. Shirin M. Morad
Coplin Health Systems is pleased to welcome internal medicine and primary care physician Shirin M. Morad, DO, to Coplin Health Systems at the River Valley Family Care location. Dr. Morad is a Ripley native and has more than 20 years of experience providing quality medical care to patients.
“I’ve always envisioned practicing medicine in the Jackson County community where I grew up,” Dr. Morad said. “I inherited my joy of medicine from my father, who was a surgeon in the area. I enjoy getting to know my patients, understanding their medical needs, and caring for them in a holistic manner.”
Dr. Morad earned her medical degree at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, W.Va. in May 2001 and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah,Ga. She has been providing primary care in the Jackson County area for the last six years.
In addition to her medical degree, Dr. Morad received a law degree from T.C. Williams School of Law in Richmond, Va., in 1989 and is registered with the West Virginia Bar Association. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Psychology from West Virginia Wesleyan College in May 1986. She is a registered nurse and is licensed to practice medicine in Georgia, South Carolina, and West Virginia.
Rob Dudley, CEO of Coplin Health Systems, said Dr. Morad’s wealth of knowledge, energy, and compassion for the well-being of her patients will benefit the community’s overall health.
“Dr. Morad is a skilled physician and will provide the healthcare expertise we need to support Coplin Health Systems’ commitment to providing quality health care,” Dudley said. “We are honored and thankful to have Dr. Morad serving the patients at River Valley Family Care.”
Dr. Darrin E. Nichols, Chief Medical Officer of Coplin Health Systems, added, “Dr. Morad’s patient-focused experience is a tremendous asset to our medical team. She engages with her patients and is dedicated to providing care through every stage of their life, including the diagnosis and treatment of illnesses as well as maintaining overall health and wellness and disease prevention.”
Dr. Morad is interested in educating her patients about the importance of maintaining a healthy diet and lifestyle to prevent certain diseases. When not caring for patients, she enjoys spending time on her small farm, which is a rescue for unwanted, abused, or neglected animals.
“I get great joy watching and helping depressed and neglected animals discover happiness and start trusting humans again,” Dr. Morad said. “The animals give back so much love and gratification, and I can’t imagine life without them.”
Dr. Morad is now accepting new patients at River Valley Family Care. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call 304-273-1033 or visit coplinhealth.com.
