River Valley Family Care Welcomes Nurse Practitioner Bridget Briscoe

RAVENSWOOD, WV (Jan. 10, 2022) – We are pleased to welcome family nurse practitioner Bridget Briscoe to Coplin Health Systems at the River Valley Family Care location. Briscoe is excited to join the health center’s medical team and provide care to patients of all ages.

“I have always been drawn to this aspect of medicine, the ability to build long-term relationships and trust with patients and their families in the community,” Briscoe said. “I always strive to listen and understand my patients’ health needs to establish positive outcomes.”

Briscoe earned her Master of Science degree from Chamberlian University in Downers Grove, Illinois, in June 2022 and is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Fairmont State University in June 2019 and an associate nursing degree in May 2015.

Prior to continuing her education, Briscoe worked as a registered nurse in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Thomas Hospital in South Charleston, W.Va.

“While providing care to critically ill people for several years, I coordinated patient care and treatment plans with physicians and other clinical staff while addressing complications,” Briscoe said. “Now, I want to prevent patients from needing emergency care by better managing their outpatient care and encouraging preventive health screenings and practices.”

Dr. Darrin Nichols, CMO of Coplin Health Systems, said Bridget’s dedication and compassion for her patients will benefit River Valley Family Care.

“We are honored to have Bridget join our talented medical team, bringing her critical care expertise to support Coplin Health Systems’ commitment to providing high-quality patient care,” Nichols said. “Bridget brings a great blend of clinical education and knowledge with a strong passion for community-based care.”

Briscoe is interested in educating her patients about the importance of smoking cessation, exercise, and a healthy diet. When not caring for patients, Briscoe enjoys spending time with her husband and two children outdoors, boating and camping.

Briscoe is now accepting appointments at River Valley Family Care. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call 304-273-1033 or visit coplinhealth.com.
