Dr. Kelly McLain Joins Coplin Health Systems

Coplin Health Systems is pleased to welcome pediatrician Dr. Kelly L. McLain to its talented team of physicians at Parkersburg Family Care (Emerson Square). Dr. McLain brings more than a decade of experience as a pediatrician and looks forward to practicing in her home state.

“I’m excited to be back in West Virginia and taking care of children,” said Dr. McLain. “I’ve long enjoyed the wonderful community of Parkersburg. I’m thrilled to be at Coplin Health Systems and providing preventative and acute care to young patients.”

Dr. McLain earned her medical degree from Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine at Marshall University in 2005. Immediately after graduation, she completed a two-year residency at Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters in Norfolk, VA., where she received the Resident of the Month award.

Most recently, Dr. McLain worked in the Pediatrics Department at Marietta Memorial Hospital for 13 years. Patients who receive care from Dr. McLain can expect the competent and compassionate pediatric care at Coplin Health Systems’ state-of-the-art facility.

“We are honored to have Dr. McLain join our staff at Parkersburg Family Care,” said Rob Dudley, CEO of Coplin Health Systems. “Part of providing quality patient care at Coplin Health Systems is having a team of dedicated providers working together to ensure the best possible outcomes. Dr. McLain will be an outstanding provider for children in our region.”

Dr. McLain knew at a young age she wanted a career in medicine. After high school, she attended West Virginia Wesleyan College and graduated at the top of her class magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and chemistry.

“One of my favorite parts of pediatrics is meeting children and their families,” Dr. McLain said. “If we can help families adopt healthy lifestyles now, they will have the tools to help their children grow into healthy adults.”

Dr. McLain is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. In addition to her medical training, Dr. McLain is very active with youth programs. She serves as a volunteer in the Junior League of Parkersburg and the children’s ministry program at South Parkersburg Baptist Church.

A native of Keyser, W.Va., Dr. McLain resides in the Parkersburg area with her family.

Dr. McLain is now accepting appointments at the Parkersburg Family Care location on Emerson Square. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call 304-917-3530 or visit coplinhealth.com.
