Q&A with New Provider Leann Williams, PA-C, ATC
Coplin Health Systems is pleased to welcome Leann M. Williams, PA-C, ATC to its medical team. Leann will serve as a Float Provider, focusing on Acute Care.
We chatted with Leann about her healthcare experience and what she’s looking forward to in her new role at Coplin.
What drove you to choose this career path?
Helping others and making a positive impact on peoples’ lives.
Can you tell us about your education?
I earned my Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Charleston in May 2015, and I am board certified as a physician assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. Additionally, I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from the University of Charleston in 2012.
Can you share some of your past medical experience?
I worked as a Physician Assistant at the Asthma and Allergy Center in Charleston, WV. My medical experiences range from evaluating and treating patients with acute and chronic allergies, immunodeficiencies, and respiratory conditions such as COPD and asthma.
What is the most enjoyable part of your job?
Knowing that I have made a difference in trying to improve someone’s health.
When not at Coplin, what do you enjoy doing?
Spending time with my friends and family, camping, side-by-side riding, and traveling.
What are your Professional Goals and Interests? (ie, immunizations, diabetes, healthy eating, etc)
One of my goals as a healthcare provider is to develop lasting relationships with my patients and their families, helping them understand their health goals and encourage preventive health screenings and practices.
One fun fact about yourself?
I played four years of collegiate soccer at the University of Charleston.
Tell us about you personally.
I reside in Jackson County with my husband, daughter, and our dog. We enjoy being with our friends and family, camping, traveling, kayaking, and side-by-side riding.
